About Me

Hi, welcome! I'm Yasco.Helping children who struggle with reading has always been at the heart of my work. I am a certified Orton-Gillingham practitioner, and I specialize in supporting students with dyslexia, reading difficulties, and other learning differences. Using a structured, multisensory approach, I provide individualized lessons that give children the tools they need to become confident readers.I have over 20 years of experience in education in New York City, having served as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, and literacy coach. As a literacy coach, I supported teachers and school leaders in providing effective reading instruction for diverse learners. Currently, as a special education trainer, I guide educators and administrators in navigating the special education process, developing strong IEPs, and delivering individualized instruction for students.My experience includes working with children with dyslexia, other learning disabilities, speech-language impairments, autism, and English language learners with disabilities.Above all, I believe that every child can learn to read with the right support, patience, and encouragement. My goal is to partner with families to help their children grow in confidence, thrive in reading, and discover the joy of learning.
